Europe Climate related impact Analysis

Elevating Climate Resilience through Comprehensive Data Insights

Aligned with the European Green Deal's vision, the EEA-CATDAT project on maintaining the European climate disaster loss database, is a pioneering stride towards a climate-resilient Europe. It's about smarter, systemic adaptation, driven by better climate risk and loss data.

  • Unveiling Crucial Insights: In response to the EU's call for enhanced climate risk assessments, EEA-CATDAT delivers meticulously updated economic loss and fatality data. By harnessing our CATDAT and Munich Re's NatCatSERVICE databases, we present a comprehensive perspective on weather- and climate-related extreme events.

  • Precise Categorization: Our analysis classifies losses into three categories: meteorological events (storms), hydrological events (floods), and climatological events (heatwaves, cold waves, droughts). Covering all 32 EEA member countries, this wealth of data provides a granular understanding of regional vulnerabilities.

  • Unbiased Data Fusion: EEA-CATDAT avoids data gaps by presenting CATDAT and NatCatSERVICE data separately. Acknowledging variations in data construction, our approach ensures internal coherence, delivering insights without compromise.

EEA-CATDAT is your gateway to informed decision-making, illuminating climate risks and losses across Europe. By marrying scientific rigor with advanced data analytics, we enable the EU's journey towards a resilient and sustainable future.
